He received his undergraduate education at Georgetown University and St. Louis University, receiving his degree in 1973. Mark obtained his license to practice law in the State of Missouri in 1976 and in the State of Illinois in 1981. Mark is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating.
Mark began his career as an assistant United States Attorney here in St. Louis, Missouri. As an assistant United States Attorney he represented the United States government in many civil and criminal matters. He gained valuable trial experience in front of very tough Federal judges.
After his time in the United States Attorney's office, he entered private practice. Since 1981 he has represented many individual clients primarily in the fields of personal injury, workers compensation and wrongful death.
He is admitted to practice before all states courts in Missouri and Illinois, Federal courts in Missouri and Illinois, and the United States Claims Court.
Mark is active in professional legal and community organizations. He is a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA), the American Trial Lawyers Association (ATLA), the Missouri Bar Association, the American Bar Association (ABA), the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL).

Prior to joining Helfers Law, she spent over 15 years as a paralegal for a counsel of a large insurance company and for a number of other personal injury and worker’s compensation law firms. She has been married for 38 years and has 2 sons.
